Join Our Team as an Airfreight Export Controller!

Are you ready to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment of airfreight wholesaling and consolidating? We are seeking a skilled Airfreight Export Controller to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating entire airfreight export shipments, ensuring seamless delivery from origin to international destinations.

The ideal candidate is required to manage the complete export process according to shipping terms and customer instructions, co-ordinate all stages of shipment, from collection at the origin to final delivery at the international destination and handle all tasks involved in the export process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. The Airfreight Export Controller will report directly to the Airfreight Export Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities of the Airfreight Export Controller include:

    • Arranging collection of cargo
    • Ensuring that cargo is received into our warehouse and properly documented
    • Assessing whether cargo is appropriately packed for airfreight
    • Arranging re-packing with packers when necessary, including Danerous Goods Regulation (DGR) packing if required
    • Booking cargo with airlines in accordance with required deadlines
    • Ensuring that documents for customs purposes are accurate
    • Processing customs entries electronically
    • Re-negotiating airline rates when needed
    • Sending pre-alerts when documents are complete for approval
    • Liaising with our customers locally and with destination agents as required
    • Completing internal costings accurately for invoicing purposes

      Key Requirements for Consideration:

        • Minimum of 3 years of experience in export airfreight, preferably in a wholesale/consolidator environment in a similar position
        • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
        • Knowledge of Incoterms
        • Ability to work precisely, pay attention to detail, and work both independently and as part of a team
          • High level of verbal and written communication skills in English
          • Professional manner and attitude when dealing with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
          • Proficiency in ShipShape or similar customs programs and regular business software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
          • Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) accreditation is an advantage
