All documents must be in English

HAWB must show actual true freight charges otherwise IATA rate will be applied as the Value for Customs at destination

Consignee is to be stated in full by importer of record, importers address, phone number and contact person

China Customs at origin require details of MAWB consignee and HAWB consignee tax i.d / VAT number to process export entry.

Special cargo such as Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Perishables, minerals, import permits are required.

THE FOLLOWING HAS TO BE UNDERTAKEN PRIOR TO EXPORT AT ORIGIN

Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) and Certificate of Conformity (CoC)
Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) is required or all goods imported into Uganda and has to be arranged by shipper, not shipper’s air export agent, using one of the following approved inspecting agents : SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or CCIC (China). Once PVoC is complete at origin, the inspecting agent issues shipper with a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and this has to travel with AWB to destination.

Goods of F.O.B value 2000 USD and under are not subject to PSI however will be subject to destination inspection at time of entry

The following goods are exempt from PSI :

Government project specific goods

Raw Materials which are brought in for the manufacturing process and not for sale

Diplomatic cargo

Personal Effects

Goods that are not covered by compulsory standards

Certified goods including those from the EAC Partner States

Industrial machinery and spare parts not for re-sale

Classified Military and Police hardware and equipment
