For years, Aero Africa has been a proud sponsor of the ACOC Golf Day in South Africa, where we’ve sponsored T-Boxes, set up branded marquees with fully stocked bars, and even offered incredible hole-in-one prizes. We’ve loved being part of this industry tradition that brings together aviation professionals for networking and giving back.
This year, we decided to take things in a different direction – we hosted our own inaugural Par 3 Charity Golf Day, and what a day it was!
A New Chapter Begins
Last month, we welcomed suppliers, clients, and partners from across the logistics industry for a day that perfectly balanced friendly competition with meaningful impact. The decision to host our own event wasn’t made lightly. While we’ve cherished our years supporting the ACOC Golf Day and the incredible causes like Woodrock Animal Rescue, we wanted to create something uniquely ours – a day where our community could rally around a cause close to our hearts.
Perfect Conditions, Perfect Purpose
Much like the stunning summer morning that greeted us at previous ACOC events, we were blessed with ideal conditions. The weather cooperated beautifully, setting the perfect stage for our inaugural event and creating an atmosphere where relationships could flourish both on and off the course.
The energy throughout the day was amazing. From seasoned golfers sinking impressive birdies to enthusiastic beginners navigating their way around the course (with varying degrees of success), everyone brought their A-game and, more importantly, their generous hearts.
This year, we dedicated our charitable efforts to Jeremiah’s Hope Baby Center, an organization doing vital work supporting vulnerable children and families. The result? An incredible R85,000 raised – a remarkable achievement that will make a real difference in young lives.
The Spirit of Camaraderie
What truly made this event special was witnessing the same spirit of camaraderie we’ve experienced at ACOC events over the years. Players cheered each other on, worked together, and hyped themselves up – creating that authentic sense of community that makes golf days so memorable. The laughter, the friendly rivalry, and the shared commitment to giving back reminded us why we love this industry and the people in it.
More Than Just a Sponsor
Hosting our own event gave us the opportunity to do more than sponsor a hole or set up a marquee – it allowed us to create an experience from start to finish. Every detail, from the course setup to the prizes, was designed with our participants and our chosen charity in mind.
A massive thank you to every participant who joined us on the course. Your swings, your putts, and most importantly, your generous contributions have made a tangible impact on Jeremiah’s Hope Baby Center and the families they support.
The overwhelming positive response and success of this first event has us already planning for next year. Just as the ACOC Golf Day has become a staple on the aviation calendar, we hope the Aero Africa Charity Golf Day will become a new tradition worth marking on yours.
